Critical theory

Again, this is for those of you who are moving on to Napier, Stevenson, Carnegie where analysis of images and what they mean starts to become important.
This site gives an overview of a few incredibly important writers, thinkers and (who'd have thought?) French philosophers who have contributed to our understanding of photographic communication.
(I know that when you signed up for a photography course, that you secretly wanted to get stuck into French philosophy and post-modernism but were too shy to ask.)
Here's a tip: if anyone with a black polo neck, goatee beard and smoking Gauloise cigarettes asks you what you know about post-modernism and the post-structuralists, say "Foucault."
It's quite a good joke, but I have never had the chance to use it.
Have fun.
