HNC Stock - Atmospheric

HNC students are also creating a set of pictures for a stock photo library - the theme is 'atmospheric'. This is quite an open-to-interpretation project brief, and it should be kept in mind that stock libraries usually hold pictures that are quite commercial, and sellable for magazines, book covers, calendars and so on. I did a quick search in Photo Shelter, and came upon the Photo-fusion picture library, which also contains many documentary style pictures. Notice that the picture preview in the library has a caption and keywords to help people find and identify, and make use of the picture.

A more advanced search on Photo Shelter, this time using the terms: atmospheric, city and urban, came up with another stock agency called Trigger Image who offer "highly edited imagery" to clients like Macmillan and Harper Collins who are book publishers. So a quick couple of searches has revealed a rich source of pictures and ideas for your own photography, as well as seeing how stock picture libraries display their wares using captions and keywords.
