Edinburgh visit

NQ Groups will have a day trip to the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh.
Part of the day will be spent shooting photographs. You will be able to use some of the techniques that you are beginning to learn.

Plan and research topics:

How do you get there?
What are the weather conditions likely to be, and what effect will that have on light and possible picture styles? What type of picture can you take if it's pouring, blowing a gale, snowing, foggy, or maybe sunny.
Identify locations close to the Camera Obscura to photograph
Mark them on a map - Google maps, OS maps
Identify photographers who have shot the city. Collect examples of their work.
Identify and describe - composition styles you can use - think about lines, shapes, frames, intersections...
Identify and describe - photographic techniques you can use - think about depth-of-field, aperture, shutter speed, tonal range, angle of view...
Identify and describe - light qualities you might encounter - think about contrast, light-and-shade, diffuse lighting, reflection, transmitted light
