Visual design - HNC

HNC photographers are creating visual identity artwork, using Photoshop. It's a good idea to use a small number of techniques, and to develop some skill and judgement in applying them.
Everyone is making good progress in the technical skills and producing some good work, I'm happy to say.
So now there needs to be concentration on the principles of visual design.
I did a web search for that phrase which produced many useful sites, and an image search also produced many helpful visual examples. (This is research by the way.)

It gives a set of terms and ideas that help you to describe and build your design. Terms like line, colour, shape, texture, space, balance, contrast, unity. Particular attention needs to be paid to colours that pleasingly complement each other, and don't clash.
