We've talked a little bit about making portfolios of pictures. Your Higher project is a portfolio. If you apply for a course, you will take a portfolio of your photographs - printed and neatly presented in a folder or print box.
The American photographer Brooks Jensen has made the idea of folios of photographs the main focus of his photographic work. It's worth a look:
