There's an exhibition of black-and-white street photography showing at Dovecot Studios, Infirmary Street, Edinburgh until October 26.
The photographs are by Scottish film-maker David Peat who photographed street scenes for his own interest wherever in the world he happened to be and whenever he had some spare time.
He didn't print many of them, but later in his life he teamed up with printer Robert Burns to go through his archive and make exhibition quality prints. 
The exhibition is worth seeing because of the wonderful photographs that have been hidden away for so long, and also for the quality of the fibre silver gelatin printing and the interpretation of the negatives provided by the partnership between a gifted photographer and a master printer.
