It is very common for photographers to scan their old film projects and submit them to stock agencies.
Many photographers also still use film a lot of the time, especially for their own personal projects which do not have to be delivered ('turned round') in a hurry. 
The steps that you take to produce a set of pictures is called the workflow.

The stock agency ‘Travelogue’ is accepting photographs for submission.
The agency distributes images to travel guides and publications worldwide. They stock pictures on the life, landscapes, culture, architecture, work and leisure of the countries and cities that they feature.

They require images on the theme of ‘environment’ in a traditional monochrome style.

Digitise your Block 1 Environment negatives.

‘Travelogue’ has strict quality control checks. (QC)

·      Scans must be a minimum of 20MB, Adobe RGB Tiffs.

·      All must have captions, keywords, your credit information

·      Filenames must follow this protocol: surname-subject-number.tif eg brame-environment1.tif

·      QC require that you submit copies of the files with layers, showing your image editing work

·      Low resolution files must be included as jpegs at approx 800x600px at 72ppi

QC expect you to follow these workflow steps. Tick them off as you complete them:                                            

1.    Scan at 300ppi, 14inchxpro, Adobe RGB colour space
2.    Save and name the file to secure location
3.    Add basic factual caption, keywords and your credit and contact information
4.    Image correction: spots and scratches in a layer. Use either a background copy layer, or an empty layer and set the clone stamp options to sample all layers (CS3)
5.    Tone correction using level and curves layer adjustments
6.    Local contrast adjustments using layer mask and brush. Detail in shadow and highlight is required
7.    Unsharp mask at no more than 50% on a separate copy layer
8.    Save a layered file in a folder. Save a flattened TIFF in a separate folder
9.    Resize and save a low-resolution JPEG in a separate folder
10.  Save the three folders and back-up to DVD and hard drive for QC checks
