Eve Arnold - "It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument."

Eve Arnold, one of the most significant photo-journalists has just died, aged 99. She was the first woman to join the very serious photo agency, Magnum, and like many of its members, she used the camera to tell stories of the real lives of real people throughout the world. Her work is straight-forward and easy to understand,(but very thoughtful and disciplined) and is essential viewing for anyone who wants to understand how you can use photography to tell stories about how people live their lives.
