DTP tasks, A4 newsletter layout

You are going to create this newsletter cover layout and two others, and we'll give you a PSD (Photoshop Document) file that you can have a look at to see how the layers with text and pictures work. We'll include some images too, but you can find examples of magazine layouts at http://www.issuu.com/
The text that you need to include also gives you some instructions on how to create the layout. It isn't a step-by-step guide though. Here's the text:


"Photoshop has tools that allow you to do some simple DTP work. Adobe In-Design is the full programme for advanced design. Here are some pointers for creating this document: 1 - Open a new document at A4. 2 - Have rulers and grids by going to view>rulers and show>grids. Create 1/2 inch margins by putting your mouse onto the ruler and pulling down. Use these margins and grids to line up your page elements. 3 - Put text into the page by drawing a box with the text tool and pasting or typing the words. 4 - Format the text by selecting it and use the window>character and paragraph to change the alignment and kerning etc. 5 - Copy and paste photographs, and use the transform tool to change their size. 6 - Each time you put new text or pictures in, you create a layer. 6 - Open the sample PSD file, study its layers, and try to recreate it exactly."
