HNC Image Editing requires the application of specific editing techniques, according to a Quality Control checklist.
This is how stock photography companies like Alamy work. Alamy give detailed technical information about how digital images should be prepared for their library. They are VERY strict!
UPDIG - Universal Photographic Digital Imaging Guidelines - are a set of standard technical guides for anyone, especially photographers - who want to know the best professional practices for working with digital pictures.
The Image Editing and the Location Stock units are matched to Alamy and UPDIG standards. If you meet them, then you are beginning to meet professional photographic industry standards.
HNC students must visit the Alamy and UPDIG guidelines and study them carefully.
To help, this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/afe03dsyqi2h6gb/Stills-Photoshop1.doc will allow you to download some notes I wrote for a Stills Photoshop course. It includes screengrabs and screencasts of techniques.
